In Cruise Night, photographer, Kristin Bedford captures the Los Angeles Mexican American Lowrider community in bright and vivid colors. In these "unstaged" images the photographer explores the elaborate self-expression, elegance and skill conveyed in these cars and the richness of the world that surrounds them that too often is overlooked, thought of as niche, and very male, rather than a deep all encompassing tradition that started in the 1940s and now has thousands of riders, allowing us to question stereotypes and assumptions.
